The King of the Igbo community in Ghana HRM Eze Dr. Ambassador Chukwudi Ihenetu has called on successful African business men and women to extend a helping hand to the less privileged in the society adding that it is the only way to live a truly fulfilled life.
The King made this remark when a team from the Africa Trade and Investment Global Services (ATIGS) and the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) paid a courtesy call on him to look at ways of expanding his Feeding the Hungry project to attract more support and increase their reach.
“Our communities have been stricken by a large number of people who find themselves without the basic human necessities, by means of shelter and food. We feel this is something that we can aid the community with, our volunteers will provide food for the hungry, in an attempt to re establish a unity and bond in our communities in aiding the hungry.” He revealed.
Ezeigbo Ghana Foundation “Feeding the Hungry Project” is a non-profit organization effort to address the plight of hungry children, men and women on the streets of Accra.
Speaking on the project further, the King said “Feeding the hungry is one of the existing long-term goals for the Ezeigbo Ghana Foundation. Our goal is feeding the hungry in various communities, to serve the homeless, unemployed, elderly, migrants and the working poor. Everybody who comes to us to be fed is welcomed regardless of race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, special needs or income.”
Chief Harrison Kalu Mba; the chief of staff of Ezeigbo Ghana Palace equally added that the palace strives to reduce hunger by preparing and providing one hot meal per day, five days a week at various communities in Ghana. “Our Future long-term dream is to provide on a continuous basis lifesaving food, secure housing, clean water, healthcare, emergency relief, micro-enterprise projects and education opportunities by giving the poor a chance at a better future and showing them God’s love” He opined
The Chief Operation Officer of the Palace and CEO of Tiwala Markt Company Limited Mr. Wisdom King Adukpo used the opportunity to call on those present to send the word out to help serve the poorest of the poor. He encouraged the privileged to support the initiative with donations of food items and cash to help bring relief to the suffering of the poor. He urged others to replicate the gesture in the communities they find themselves.
The Ezeigbo Foundation is the initiative of His Royal Magesty Eze Dr. Ambassador Chukwudi Ihenetu, the King of the Igbo People in Ghana.
Since its inception in 2014, the Foundation has been involved in providing social amenities for some communities in Ghana. Some of their projects include digging of boreholes, provision of public place of convenience and payment of school fees for the less privileged among others.
In his concluding remarks, HRM Eze Dr. Ambassador Chukwudi Ihenetu, threw a hand of invitation to all and sundry to visit the palace and discuss how they can support the initiative.
